You can keep on sucking whatever you boss tells you just like you did for 70 years if you don't like to.
But then again, as you have rightly noted, Safari doesn't have this type of dialog, just like it doesn't have in a default install some of the following: mouse gestures, tabs rearrangement, content blocker, undo option for closed tabs and a whole lot of other stuff. It does have, though, the 'Open files after downloading' option enabled by default. I would be more worried about that rather than five buttons and tons of info that a lot of people would actually find useful.
Also, the fact that you've got a blog doesn't mean you have to swear on it and speak like a 1937 dissident. I have enjoyed a lot of info on your blog - you seem to know what you are talking about, however, it's a pain in the ass to read with this type of lexics in every sentence.

That's an interesting choice of words. Don't you by any chance read my blog automatically translated into english? :)
The "boss" in this case is me, I think that when I tell my browser what it should do and it should fucking (sorry!) get on with it. Firefox handholding me with disabled controls and timeouts on "it's crazy dangerous to do this!" dialogs is almost exactly aggravating.
I fully agree that Opera has a lot more features than Safari in default install, no question about that. I don't think though that having more features somehow automatically negates the need to polish the interface. Opera and Firefox both have this problem on Mac. They just stick out. A lot.

Opening stuff by default is a problem, but considering the amount of spyware and such for the Mac I don't think it's a serious one. I hope Apple would switch this option off in 10.5, of course.

Sorry about that. My blog is a way for me to vent and rant which, I must admit, almost automatically generates some swearing on my part. I actually try to minimize the amount, but it just kinda-sorta happens all the time.
Glad you read my stuff, though. :)
